Sukeban Games' 2016 game "VA-11 HALL-A" depicts a dystopian world where nanomachines keep humans in line and White Knights enforce the law. You play the role of a bartender at the small place nicknamed 'Valhalla' which 'attracts the most fascinating people this side of dystopia.' The highly stylized game takes inspiration from PC-98 adventure games and presents a branching narrative where not normal choices, but the drinks you prepare, determine the story.
The score is American composer Michael 'Garoad' Kelly's debut in the video game industry, which uses a variety of chiptunes and beautiful synths alongside traditional instruments. It very much has the "night life" feel to it, deriving some of its sound from techno and disco.
