-베트남 전쟁이 한창이던 당시의 어둡고 혼란스러운 시대 상황에 대한 반감을 노래한 이 곡은 국내에서 방영됐던 외화 <머나먼 정글(Tour of Duty)>의 주제곡으로 쓰이면서 다시 인기를 얻은 적이 있지만 이미 발매 당시 1위를 차지한 전적을 자랑하는 노래입니다. 피를 상징하는 듯한 붉은색(red), 무더위 때문에 가벼운 옷차림을 한 소녀들(girls dressed in their summer clothes), 한 줄로 늘어선 차량들(a line of cars)... 전흔이 감도는 이런 모습을 보기 싫어 고개를 돌리고 아예 모두 검게 칠해 버리고 싶다는 반전 의식을 비장한 사운드에 실어 나타내고 있습니다.
