-로제티  영국의 시인·작가. 1830~1894

런던에서 태어났다. 어린시절부터 시를 몹시 좋아하였다. 1848년부터 오빠들의 회사인 ‘라파엘 전파’의 기관지에 <꿈의 나라>등 7편의 우수한 서정시를 실었으며,1862년에 첫 시집 《요귀의 시장, 기타》를 발표하였다. 그 뒤 <왕자의 순력>과, 때묻지 않은 순결한 어린이의 마음을 노래한 동시집《창가》《신작 시집》등을 차례로 발표하였다.
그녀의 작품은 세련된 시어, 확실한 운율법, 온아한 정감이 만들어 내는 신비적이면서 종교적인 분위기를 가졌다. 그녀는 신앙상의 이유로 두 차례의 실연을 겪게 되자 결혼을 단념하였으며, 작품 중 연애시의 대부분은 좌절된 사랑을 기록한 것이다.
